He served as Assistant Manager of Project Development Division (seconded to PROTON Project) at HICOM Berhad from August 1983 to November 1983. Y Bhg. Datuk. Bin Syed Wazir served as Research Officer of SIRIM Berhad. from September 1979 to July 1983. He has been Vice Chairman of WSP Holdings Ltd. since November 18, 2010. Y Bhg. Datuk. Bin Syed Wazir has been Executive Director of UMW Holdings Bhd since October 1, 2010. He serves as a Non-Independent Executive Director of Edaran Otomobil Nasional Bhd. He has been an Additional Director of Oil Country Tubular Limited since October 2, 2010. He served as a Non Executive Director of Hilong Holding Limited since February 28, 2011 until March 2013. He served as a Director of Proton Cars (UK) Pte Ltd from 1997 to 1998.
