Dato Sri. Abdul Wahid Bin Omar, FCCA has been the Chief  cutive Officer and President of Malayan Banking Bhd since May 1, 2008. Dato Sri. Bin Omar served as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Telekom Malaysia Berhad and its subsidiary VADS Bhd from July1, 2004 to April 30, 2008. He served as the Group Chief Executive Officer of TM International Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia Berhad. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of United Engineers (Malaysia) Berhad (UEM) and UEM World Berhad from October 2001 to June 2004. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of Telekom Malaysia Berhad from March 2001 to September 2001. His previous work experience included stints at Bumiputra Merchant Bankers Bhd, Kumpulan Fima Bhd and Amanah Capital Partners Bhd. He served as a Director of Group Corporate Services cum Divisional Director, Capital Market & Securities of Amanah Capital Partners Berhad. Dato Sri. Bin Omar served as the Chairman of Amanah Short Deposits Berhad from 1999 to 2001. He has been Chairman of Malaysian Electronic Payment System Sdn Bhd since June 2009. He has been the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Celcom Malaysia Bhd since July 1, 2004. He serves as an Executive Vice Chairman of Projek Lebuhraya Utara-Selatan Berhad. He served as an Executive Vice Chairman of Renong Bhd since October 8, 2001. He served as a Non-Executive Deputy Chairman of Costain Group PLC since January 21, 2002. He also served as an Executive Vice Chairman of PLUS Expressways Bhd since April 12, 2002 to June 30, 2004. Dato Sri. Bin Omar has been a Non-Independent Executive Director of Bursa Malaysia Bhd since April 10, 2004. He served as Non-Independent Executive Director of TM Net Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia Bhd. He has been a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Projek Penyelenggaraan Lebuhraya Bhd since November 16, 2001. He has been Director of Celcom Malaysia Bhd since July 1, 2004. He has been a Non-Independent & Executive Director of Malayan Banking Bhd since May 1, 2008. He served as a Director of TM International Sdn Bhd until March 24, 2008. He serves on the Board of Linkedua (Malaysia) Berhad and several other private limited companies and all of which are Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange listed companies. Dato Sri. Bin Omar served as a Non-Independent Executive Director of Telekom Malaysia Berhad and its subsidiary, VADS Berhad from July1, 2004 to April 30, 2008. He served as a Non-Independent Executive Director of Renong Bhd since October 5, 2001, Pharmaniaga Bhd from November 15, 2001 to June 30, 2004, PLUS Expressways Bhd from January 29, 2002 to June 30, 2004 and UEM Builders Bhd (formerly, Intria Berhad) since November 20, 2001. He served as a Non-Executive Director of Costain Group PLC since January 21, 2002. He served as a Director of Alliance Merchant Bank Berhad from 1999 to 2001. He served as the Chairman of Association of Discount Houses in Malaysia. He serves as a Member of the Financial Reporting Foundation of Malaysia and the Investment Panel of Lembaga Tabung Haji. He is also a director of a number of Maybank Group companies including Mayban Fortis Holdings Berhad, Aseambankers Malaysia Berhad, Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad, Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (KWAP) and Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (EPF). He served as a Director of Amanah Merchant Bank Berhad and several other companies in the financial services sector.
